He is widely regarded as a leading independent authority on professional services industries and their firms. His work covers Australia, Asia, USA, Canada, and UK. Mark Cohen

Mark is the CEO of Legal Mosaic - a legal business consultancy, speaker, author, Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law Distinguished Fellow and the inaugural LIFTED Catalyst-in-Residence of the Singapore Academy of Law.

Mark spent the first 25 years of his career as a civil trial lawyer--decorated Assistant U.S. Attorney, BigLaw partner, founder/managing partner of a multi-city litigation boutique, outside General Counsel, and federally-appointed Receiver of an international company.

Mark pivoted from the representation of clients to ‘the business of law’ some 15 years ago. Mark founded Qualitas, an early legal process outsourcing company (LPO), and then co-founded and managed Clearspire, a groundbreaking ‘twocompany model’ law firm and service company.

Currently, Mark consults with legal service providers on new delivery models and legal buyer solutions.

Steven Walker

Steven is Managing Director of Elevate's law department and contracts consulting business in APAC. Elevate is a fast-growing global law company.

For 4 consecutive years it has been ranked as a top global law company by Chambers and Partners, providing consulting, technology and services to many of the world’s largest law departments and law firms. He is a 20-year lawyer, having spent a decade at Hewlett-Packard in leadership positions covering several countries, with several years as Vice President, South Pacific General Counsel.

Before that, he practised law at Norton Rose and Baker McKenzie in London, Sydney and Germany, specialising in IT, IP, technology M&A and information technology/ applications/business process outsourcing. Steven specialises in helping legal departments, law firms and legal service providers innovate and transform to the next generation of legal delivery and ops services.

Michelle Mahoney

Michelle is a serial intrapreneur. Michelle has a strong global network and has a track record for maximising technology, transforming business and innovating.

Michelle is a member of King & Wood Mallesons’ Executive Leadership team as the Executive Director of Innovation. Michelle designs and delivers the innovation strategy for King & Wood Mallesons. This includes legal design, digital strategy, the application of artificial intelligence and innovation thought leadership.

Michelle is an Accredited Associate Fellow of AIM, she is a legal technologist, Prince 2 project manager, Prosci change manager, Stanford d.school design thinker and a lean six sigma black belt. Her career has included many first-to-market initiatives. Michelle has received global professional recognition of her market leading work. Alison Laird

Alison has spent the last decade working with BigLaw questioning the status quo and encouraging people to think outside of the legal box to deliver ‘different’. As a legal intrapreneur, she uses a clever combination of people, process and technology, collaborating with lawyers, business professionals and clients, to develop bespoke and creative solutions.

Alison is also Chair of the Chief Innovation Officers Forum which brings together like-minded professionals driving change within their organisation providing a platform to share resources and experiences on the innovation journey along with professional development and thought leadership opportunities.

With more than 15 years’ experience working abroad in Beirut, Dubai and London, Alison is now based in Australia bringing her unique perspective to the legal profession as Head of Innovation and Project Delivery Asia Pacific, for global law firm Pinsent Masons. Alison holds an MBA from the University of Melbourne, Australia.

Katherine Thomas

Katherine has a reputation for strategic thinking combined with a large dose of pragmatism.

Katherine understands the challenges of managing and developing legal service businesses because she has experience both as a ‘fee-earner’ and as a business development adviser.

In 2013, Katherine established the flexible resourcing service Vario for international law firm Pinsent Masons. By growing long-term client relationships as well as gaining new clients, she grew Vario from an idea to an award-winning, business in under three years that now has international coverage. Prior to that, Katherine spent 15 years in senior business development, communications and knowledge roles, leading major change projects across multiple geographies and establishing Pinsent Masons’ firmwide client development programme.

Katherine now runs her own consultancy – Katherine Thomas Consulting Pty Ltd - that helps law firms grow by developing existing client relationships, establishing new relationships and launching new services.
